Intro labs are introductory

0th lab was today, about as much fun as you can expect an intro lab to be.  “Here’s the eyewash station, you must wear a lab coat, etc.”  All important stuff, but not the reason anybody ever decided to study anything.

We did have a fun time covering our hands with fluorescent pigment, washing them, then passing about the UV light.  I’m pretty sure some of my classmates will never be eating finger food again. I was pretty proud that I thought to check under my wedding ring; that area is going to recieve a lot more handwash attention.

I’m jazzed just to be in a microbio lab. Now, I’m no longer just reading about xtal violet, there’s some on a shelf right next to me.  My bench is about a meter away from a fridge sized incubator.

I’m making this thing happen in my life, and I couldn’t be more excited.
