In which the day job impinges

My paying gig is writing programs for the government under contract.  One of those contracts is coming due this week and we’re in crunch mode to add a little polish.  My local group is already aware that I’m taking microbiology classes and is fine with it.

The tech lead and the guy who got the contract work in a different office and were not aware of this until today.  I was nervous, but straightforward, and told them I had to bug out of the office for an hour and a half for lecture.  They’re both awesome guys and had no problem whatsoever.

I’m taking it as a sign that I found lecture to be relaxing.  I came back to the office and did a better job with the rest of the evening than I would have if I just worked through the entire night.
