This reminds me of the “marine snow” nutrient resource you learn about in Marine Ecology. It’s supposed to be gross, but the notion of all that fish feces and decomposing bits and other bits slowly drifting down to the abyssal plain while zooplankton picks it out like fruit in jello is always a really relaxing mental image for me.
